About Barsett Consulting
Barsett Consulting was founded by Warren Maltzman, a molecular biologist with experience in basic cancer biology, diagnostics, and translational research. His career spans academic research, clinical laboratories, and start-ups. Dr. Maltzman's contributions in translational research have included work Quest Diagnostics, where he developed and implemented new approaches to molecular tissue pathology. More recently, he has focused upon the integration of concepts in molecular oncology to support the development of targeted diagnostics and novel screening methods. Dr. Maltzman’s areas of interest include cell- and tissue-based assays, especially as applied to breast and cervical cancers. He has extensive experience in the application of these approaches in regulated environments including in vitro diagnostic ventures, clinical diagnostic laboratories, and FDA-compliant clinical research organizations.
Dr. Maltzman’s key strength is in the integration and management of a wide variety of information. He is able to communicate complex concepts to people with varying degrees of expertise in biomedical science using white papers, presentations, and publications. This ability has been an important part of his role as a leading scientist and co-founder of several start-up in vitro diagnostics companies.
